SCOPE

Established in 1969, the INTER-KLIMA Conference is the longest-running event of its kind in this part of Europe. Over the decades, it has evolved into an international meeting point for scientists and professionals working in heating, cooling, refrigeration, air conditioning, and energy conversion in buildings and industry. Since 2023, INTER-KLIMA has been held in parallel with KLIMA-FORUM, bringing together the scientific community and industry professionals to create a comprehensive international event.

Co-organized by four Universities and supported by relevant international scientific organizations and journals, INTER-KLIMA 2027 addresses key challenges, emerging technologies, and current developments in heating, cooling, ventilation, and energy systems. The conference highlights a broad range of topics, with a particular focus on emerging areas such as:

• Indoor environmental quality and occupant-centred HVAC systems
• Smart readiness, building automation and control systems (BACS)
• Primary energy, exergy and whole-system performance assessment
• Next-generation district heating and cooling systems
• Integration of low-temperature and waste-heat sources in buildings and industry
• Sector coupling and electrification of heating and cooling
• Advanced modelling, optimization and intelligent control of industrial processes

The scientific programme of the INTER-KLIMA 2027 Conference will feature the traditional Fran Bošnjaković Day, dedicated to fundamental and applied research in thermodynamics and heat and mass transfer, as well as the Energy Efficiency and Renewables section, addressing current challenges in buildings, HVAC systems and sustainable energy technologies.

We welcome contributions presenting fundamental research, technological advances, and practical applications across these fields.

The Conference will bring together prominent scientists, researchers, engineers, and other professionals from a wide range of disciplines, including mechanical, civil, architectural, and electrical engineering. It will provide a platform for exchanging scientific knowledge, sharing practical experience, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration in the fields covered by the Conference.
